How do policy approval requests work?
When a policy is set to Require Approval, a member who would go over it sees “Approval required” on the space, room or office and a Request Access or Request Approval button. Every team admin gets an email and can approve or decline with one click. An approval lets the member go ahead for the next 24 hours.
For members
Open the space, room or office and click Request Access or Request Approval. The page then shows “Access requested”.
Wait for the email “Your request has been approved”, then refresh the page and book or check in again.
If it is declined you get “Your request has been rejected”. Talk to your team admin.
For admins
Open the email titled “[Action Required] …” and click Approve or Decline. You need to be signed in as the admin.
Or open Team → Policies → Approvals on the website and use the tick or cross on each request. The Policies link in the sidebar shows how many are waiting.
Good to know
An approval covers 24 hours from the moment the request was sent, not from the approval. After that the member has to request again.
The email shows the space, the time, what the member has spent so far in the period and what this request adds.
A request that has already been decided can’t be changed. The link page says “Already approved” or “Already rejected”.
Block policies can’t be requested; the member has to ask an admin to change the policy. Warn policies never need a request.
Approving a request doesn’t change the policy itself.
